九零年代末，馬來西亞政局波動，北部馬泰邊界暹羅村落的農婦鳳音（范冰冰 飾）熬過喪夫之痛，與女兒阿雯（許恩怡 飾）、兒子阿坤（白潤音 飾）一起種地度日，過著極簡的日子。她白天務農、為遭徵地的鄰人四處奔走；夜間則化身解降師為女村民治病驅難。隨著土地糾紛加劇，村裡異象環生，此時丈夫死因迷霧再度趨近鳳音。眼見惡勢力來襲，她決意為孩子尋找解脫與和解。而一頭消失的水牛，竟引領鳳音一家直面那段塵封已久的過往…。
